Smoked Salmon Bagel

Treat yourself with a delicious sandwich. If a combination of salmon, cream cheese and fresh dill sparkle your inner joy, don’t hesitate and just make it happen.

A bagel with smoked fish can be a great start to the day for anyone. In fact, have it whenever you want. With so few ingredients, it’s easy to put together a meal that will brighten up the moment and fill your tummy. A toasted bagel is so satisfying, too. Bite into the crispy outside through the chewy inside, to hit the taste of creamy cheese full of aromatic dill, then salmon, tangy capers and refreshing cucumber with onion. It’s pure deliciousness:).

Ingredients / 2 servings

The amount of ingredients depends on how many people you would like to feed and personal preferences.

3 oz smoked salmon or lox, thinly sliced
3 oz cream cheese, full fat is the best
Onion, thinly sliced, use a mild varieties like sweet, white or red
Cucumbers, mini are the best for decorative ribbon-shaped peeling
1-2 tsp lemon juice
2 tsp capers, rinsed under cold water
Dill, fresh, chopped,
2 plain bagels, or your favorite kind will definitely works
Salt and pepper to taste

You’ll need some appliance for toasting. I also have wooden tongs handy just because I would hate to scratch my air fryer which I love:), and it’s also safe to use around an electric toaster.

Preparation:

  • Bring the cream cheese to room temperature. Mix with lemon juice and fresh dill. Add salt and pepper to taste.

  • Toast the bagels. I use just a regular toaster which works perfectly for the job. I always use wooden tongs to remove toasted bread products from my electric toaster. Playing safe in here:).
  • Spread the cream cheese mixture on both sides of the bagel.
  • You can make two open-faced sandwiches for easier, more comfortable, less messy consumption. Or pile everything on the bottom of your toasted bagel. Add cucumber, salmon, cappers and onion. Top with top of the bagel and that’s it! Let’s eat!:)
